On May 18th, Hayes Sports and Social Club invited the Hospice to Reading Stadium to watch Horetown Graphic (Steffi) (auctioned by the club to raise funds for us last year) run in the Harlington Hospice Chase. A cheque for £1,250 was presented on the night and to top it all, Steffi won!!!
Fri 23rd June saw the return of our ever popular 'Fair on the Green'. Over 1,000 local residents turned out for an evening of entertainment with stalls, raffles, dancing and martial arts exhibitions and even a 'fancy hat' competition. Over £4,000 was raised for hospice funds.
As part of the national Help The Hospices Tea @ 3 campaign, staff, volunteers and local supporters had a tea party in the gardens of Lansdowne House. Over £500 was raised for hospice funds.
Barclays Bank Corporate showed superb returns on Weds 12th July. As part of a national Barclays charity challenge, staff from Cardinal Point and the Hospice washed taxis, soaked their managers and had a racenight to raise an incredible £7,372.38 which was promptly matched by Barclays. What a team!
August Bank Holiday provided the backdrop for a fun-packed weekend at the White Hart, Harlington. The event started with a celebration of the L2P bike ride success and was followed by a racenight, quiz, disco and Hog Roast. Mein hosts, Linda and Wayne served up a tasty £1,400 towards hospice funds.
Hayes and Harlington Roadrunners continued their support with a charity fun run at Stockley Park. The event was supported by Virgin Active and Barclays Corporate Banking and raised a healthy £2,000 in the process

On Tuesday 3rd October Harlington Hospice hosted it’s first ever Race Night. This exciting venture took place at ‘The Fox and Pheasant’ in West Drayton courtesy of landlord Mick Hanley. The event was incredibly successful, raising nearly £1000.
Early odds suggest we will be running a similar event in Hillingdon soon… watch this space!
Ghostly goings on occurred in the cellar at 'The Fox and Pheasant' in West Drayton on Saturday 28th October. Firstly, there was an asylum for the young (otherwise known as children!) which included face painting, severed finger sandwiches and lots of dancing competitions! This was followed by an adult event which had a DJ, guess the weight of the pumpkin and lots of renditions of the Macarena! Very scary! A fun and ghoulish time was had by all and a handsome £323.50 was raised for the coffin (sorry coiffeurs!)
On November 25th Harlington Hospice put on it's dancing shoes for the annual dinner dance. There were sparkles, black ties and posh frocks galore as the staff and supporters of the hospice headed to the Hilton Heathrow. A fun time was had by all!
The streets ran with blood but it wasn't all bad becuase due to a collection bucket and a raffle The Purple Theatre Company helped us raise £112.65. Fancy a pie to celebrate?!
The countdown to Christmas started in style with a children's event at The Pavilions in Uxbridge. Guess the number of maltesers in the box proved very popular (I couldn't lift the box by myself!) and the 'guess the name of the penguin' (no it wasn't pingu!) was also a success. We raised over £100 for the hospice, although I suspect the lucky winner of our Maltesers had lots of pounds of a different kind after claiming our prize!
